We are looking for a Butchery Assistant to work in our Butchery team at our Halifax depot.

The working hours are 6.30am to 3.pm, Monday to Friday and 5 hours on alternate Saturdays.

Duties includes:

• To assist with the butchering of meat into required cuts and joints according to customer orders.
• To pack meats appropriately
• Weigh and record the weights as of products as required.
• To follow hygiene rules in handling of fresh meats
• Be responsible for receiving deliveries and to check delivery against orders
• Be responsible for the correct storage and that the correct temperature is maintained.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Strong knife skills and ability to handle sharp objects safely
• An interest and/or understanding of different cuts of meat and their uses
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
